![]() ![]() I'm gone, and after this version Avast is too. theres no problem with virus definition automatic updates. is it normal to have the program version updated automatically late like this. It's not rocket science to appreciate where one resides. you can also see in the screenshot(avg interface) that the version release date is on but on my program list its installed(or updated) on. It installed itself on Vista and should recognize that fact. To add to the misery the web script analysis is suspect in firefox, and the known issue in Vista of https scanning should NOT be an issue at all. As for changing DNS, why? It's security software I installed via an update.that means it worked to download and update virus definitions, ONCE, then decided to wander off on a twerk of its own. That it works for the majority of users is not enough.). It has more bugs, flaws and surprises than a roach breeding laboratory. ![]() It is advertised as WORKING on all windoze from XP to 10! Well, it doesn't. So, here is my big is the last version I will ever use on my current system (Vista 圆4, not that it should matter. Every time I update there are are more issues than I care to count. Sometimes it chooses to update virus definitions, sometimes not. ![]() I am having the same problems since I updated today. It is not the latest but until today virus definition update have been fine.Nope. The version of Avast antivirus I am using is 20. Error returned by Instup, return code 8 (0x00000008) I looked in the Avast Update log file and the final entry for today's attempt is: Having tried and failed to auto update and manual update, a further manual update states the definitions are up to date. I get the same result on my laptop, except as I have not used it for a while the existing definitions are from. Looking in the log of my firewall, the last file to be downloaded is vps32_159c_159b.vpx size 1025042 bytes. Existing definitions on my desktop are 18-8, it will not update to the latest, which I think is dated. ![]() Today () Avast failed to update its virus definitions on both pcs.Īfter the auto update failed I tried a manual update of the definitions. I have 2 pcs with Avast anti-virus (free) installed. ![]()
